Zim’s had the best french fries! I remember going there with a big group of friends late at nite. We’d sit in the big round booths, order fries that we’d all share cuz everyone was broke and drink cup after cup of coffee and smoke up the place! Good times…

I was the weekend hostess at Zim’s from 1986 through 1987… throughout my Senior year at Redwood and the summer after. Being there at 8am after a party in Kevin Brown’s garage or the like was not fun! But I loved working there, my friends could come see me and got in good with the cops! =D I had my first cup of coffee there back in 1985…oh the memories!

I remember Zim’s! One of my first jobs was busing tables there on the graveyard shift. The bowling ally was great. In junior high I would sneak out of the house at night with a neighbor friend and go bowling, and buy cigarettes from the machine there.

I loved Zim’s!!! I saw Jerry Garcia for the first time there (he was probably eating fries)!! I am sure we pissed many a waitress off there!! I also miss the bowling ally that was right behind there.

Remember Zim’s in Greenbrae…where we would all end up after the part in Marin was broken up! Did anyone ever actually order more than french fries and a diet coke? Poor waitresses…

Arthurs. This was the bar that shared the Zims building in Greenbrae. I actually was a regular there for a couple of years after college. Nobody ever went in there, and we could shoot pool, play darts, and put whatever we wanted on the jukebox because nobody else came to the bar. Just us and the blue-haired old ladies who were smoking at the bar. No wonder it went under! (BTW, does anyone remember what Zim’s was called before it was Zim’s?)

I remembered what Zim’s in Greenbrae was named before it was Zim’s: “Lions”. Score a point for the brain cells! Now, where did I leave my car keys? Hmmm….
