Photographer Nina Zhito on the end of Nave Lanes
Late on a Friday during 2004, freelance photographer Nina Zhito was on her way home from work when she saw large bulldozers and tractors lining up next to the Nave Lanes bowling alley. “It looked ominous,” she says. Sure enough, on Monday, the construction team went to work. Zhito remembers, “I had my camera with me and just marched onto the site and started shooting, and brought my images to the Indepedent Journal, for whom i was freelancing at the time…I ‘broke’ the story and it ran on the front page the next day.” To learn more about Ms. Zhito and explore her photography and photo-journalism, please visit www.ninazhito.com.
