From YouTube User Shesmovedon:  “Quarry Activity – Larkspur Quarry – 1988.  Filmed by my father. I can barely hear him say that this is the Larkspur Quarry and that it is April 25, 1988. At least, that’s what I hear. Larkspur is in California. This is the quarry featured in the final scenes of Dirty Harry.”

Interesting fact about the train tunnel at the quarry: In August 1934 a famous passenger on a train traveled through the tunnel. The train originated from Atlanta and its destination was Tiburon. The cars on the train were then loaded onto a barge which set out for the middle of the Bay. It was bringing Al Capone (and a group of other convicts) to Alcatraz. — Michael Gabriel, Feb. 6, 2014, from MarinNostalgia Facebook Group.

A familiar sound at 5 PM evening during the week in Larkspur was the blasting at the Quarry. It was the last thing they did during the workday. The next morning the rock would be loose and ready to work. — Ramona Walker, February 6, 2014, from the MarinNostalgia Facebook Group.
